What ALL ROADS HOME by Lisa Diaz Meyer is really about

I have my own blog and I've yet to discuss my own book ALL ROADS HOME: A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES. I figure I better since my second book ALL ROADS DESTINED: A COLLECTION OF DARK FICTION AND POEMS comes out later this year. This will be a trilogy so eventually another ALL ROADS will show its face, hopefully next year.  I'll give you the breakdown that I posted on my FaceBook page  @LDMeyerAuthorAllRoads  and Twitter @LisaDMeyer .

Since my 2nd #book ALL ROADS DESTINED will be out sometime before the end of the year, I've decided to tell a little bit about the 1st one, ALL ROADS HOME that's already been available all over the internet & in 2 NY stores, lifting the shroud of mystery of what's really going on between the front and back covers of the ALL ROADS trilogy. ALL ROADS HOME contains 6 different Contents, 6 different types of dark fiction & storytelling. Let's walk through them now briefly, shall we? I promise to be quick...
ALL ROADS HOME ...1.The Outposts, has 7 chapters. At Beta Outpost four teenage boys live in a post apocalyptic world, where all that remains are 3 Outposts, 2 major cities, now ruled by the military and scientists, and a hidden frozen village. Trying desperately to heal the massive outbreak of women's cancers, the military and scientists work together to end the disease no matter who pays the price, including the women. At Gamma Outpost, we meet a group of younger boys, who's older brothers want to be rid the Military that they feel are holding them back. From Alpha Outpost we meet 2 sweet girls who are cancer resistant and meet up eventually with one of the main characters. The OUTPOST stories will run continually through the ALL ROADS trilogy. So an OUTPOSTS II will be in part 1 of ALL ROADS DESTINED, coming out later this yr.
ALL ROADS HOME  Part 2 is labeled The Enduring, as these 6 dark/sad fiction stories are more about life or awareness although of course, some of them do have that unnatural twist about them.
Part 3, The Oddities, are another 6 short dark fiction tales that contain the macabre, the dead, the afterlife and mind control.

ALL ROADS HOME part 4, in The Particulars  I've written 5 pieces, short stories, poems and an essay that are BASED on real life events growing up in the reality of city life and loss of friendships.
Part 5 are The Fragments, 7 poems about depression, abandonment and being victimized.
And finally, in part 6, are actual workable Play Versions of 5 of my dark short stories found inside the book.
ALL ROADS HOME has 36 dark short stories, odd poems, and plays that deal with isolation, depression, loss, coping, horror, the supernatural, and sci-fi. The use of the word "home" suggests yearning for home, finding home, and escaping from home. A road to normalcy, happiness and understanding...In a weird way...   http://www.lisadiazmeyer.com/
The upcoming, ALL ROADS DESTINED will contain a longer continuation of the post apocalyptic/sci-fi Outposts in the first section, The Outposts II. In part 2, The Enduring has five dark short stories that linger on the unnatural and odd side and then part 3, The Fragments has 15 poems of urgent struggle and destination.

Hardcore Henry - Movie Review

So I had the pleasure to watch HARDCORE HENRY over the weekend. I'll admit, I was leery as my 24 yr old son brought it home and I'd never heard of it. He explained it was a Must-See, so... Ok, I gave it a shot.
Number 1: its fast paced, first person based. It's exactly like watching a video game, a first person-shooter game with a great sense of humor. I found myself laughing hysterically.  A lot. For me, this is a good thing. As dark as I can be in my writing, reading, TV, movie and video game pleasure, I like to laugh and I love certain humor. Hardcore Henry hit my funny bone. Number 2: The bad guy. I'd say, someone please explain him to me but ya know what? Nah. He was entertaining and gave the best force push impersonation I've ever seen. Number 3: Jimmy. Just... Jimmy. There was an out of place musical number but I enjoyed the sense of humor of this movie and it helped explain some of the plot line.
I can't tell what's CGI'd or what the actual stuntman wearing a camera scenes were unless I watched it a few more times but seriously while watching this, you just don't care. Have fun with it. So if you are looking for fast paced, non-stop action, a bit of humor, video game experience in a movie, I do suggest Hardcore Henry. I, for one, am quite happy I gave it a shot.

My Goodreads Book Review: Steele Resolve by Kimberly Amato

STEELE RESOLVE by Kimberly Amato ....I gave this book a 5. The main character Jasmine struggles to deal with her overturned home life and her career as a detective. The banter is fun, while we watch this character go from thinking she's tough (and she is in ways) but has a gigantic heart underneath the badge.

Can we talk, Preacher..?

Now that the first season of Preacher is over, I'd like to give my opinion, so here I go.
First off, I loved it despite some comic book readers wanting the church/town to blow up in the first few episodes. I'm thinking, why rush it? The town and these people are nuts, lets just enjoy. Plus, ya' know Shane lasted way longer than he should've on The Walking Dead than in the comics, so let's just give Season One of Preacher its chance.
The casting was great. Am I surprised that the actors who play Jesse and Tulip are British? Yes and no. For some reason UK actors got that US southern accent down pat, it seems.
They made us love Eugene although he put a young girl in a coma and wore his own twisted badge of shame on his face due to attempted suicide. And finally, Cassidy, my darlin' Cassidy. Who doesn't love a lullaby Irish accent or their way with words? He's hot, he's funny and livens every scene he's in. He owns his vampire...hood... ness, however it's said.
Now for the Cowboy and here's where some of the comic readers might get annoyed with me but this is just an observation of the show and nothing really to do him being who he is. Ok... why is he so slow? His daughter is on her death bed and he is walking his horse (that he loves, I know) to another town in almost slow motion there and half way back. When he decides to save that family he meets on the road, he turns around and gallops that horse. One would think he would've been galloping most of the time to save his own kid. Other than that, I do like the unfortunate Cowboy story line. Thank you Preacher on AMC for entertaining me and I'm looking ahead to it's second season.
