My review of MELTING STEELE by author Kimberly Amato

MELTING STEELE is the second installment of author Kimberly Amato's STEELE SERIES. The irresistible Jasmine "Jazz" Steele is back solving a gruesome crime (the more gruesome, the better, I say) There's some touchy subjects... after all, this is a criminal mystery, and Ms. Amato handled it very well. I love how tough this character is, and the book does have humorous moments, little quips here and there which bring humanity to the bad guy/good guy scenarios. Other than Jasmine, I've become attached to Vic, the medical examiner and also to her partner, the ex-Marine, Will. I'm impatiently waiting for BREAKING STEELE, so I can join the gang again, see what goings on Jasmine gets herself into, and to see if she gets the revenge she so desperately needs.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Opener (spoiler if you haven't possibly seen it by now)

So, I'm sure anyone with a blog and their mother, will be writing about the first episode of season 7 of The Walking Dead, like I'm about to do. Strangely enough, I don't know what to say, as someone who has read these comics and knows it doesn't play out exactly the same, I knew Glenn might be in the running. I did however, think it was Abraham, as Negan replied "You took that like a champ", who else's head could possible handle it like a champ but him, so I did expect both. Then there was the constant mention of the ax. I kept waiting for Rick's hand to get chopped off ...as per comic...and it gave a lot of opportunity for that to happen.... but it didn't. I'm not a fan of the Negan phase of the comics. Maybe because after Glenn and Abraham were killed (comic book wise) there wasn't a new character to replace them in the likability category. It just left a big hole. So our remaining characters are going to have to ramp it up and I'm sure they will. Great casting and writing all around, as always.

ALL ROADS DESTINED: A Collection of Dark Fiction & Poems

Since I'm not at the end of any books that I can review or at the end of any shows I watch, I've decided to let everyone know my second book ALL ROADS DESTINED: A Collection of Dark Fiction & Poems has been published and available on Amazon.com and Outskirtpress.com. Since it's only been out a few days, distribution by the publisher is not complete, otherwise it would available at B&N.com and other book related sites. The first half of the book is a continuation of The Outposts (a sci/fi post apocalyptic saga) which I started in my first book ALL ROADS HOME: A Collection of Short Stories. If things go as planned there will be another two ALL ROADS books in the future, where more Outpost stories go on. The other short stories are dark fiction related, sadness, twisted endings, creepy characters, isolation, depression...ya know, fun stuff. Happy endings?? What the heck is that about?? If you're just a tiny bit sinister like me... but then again I do share some "awareness" & "human nature" bits. As far as the poetry, it ain't the lovey-dovey kind. The stage play scripts are macabre or "scary".  So if you're looking for something different, try me. I'm a different breed. And if you decide to read my books, I hope you enjoy! Enjoy the oddness and me; "making weird normal".
