My 5 STAR Review of JEREMIAH STROUT AND THE CURSE OF THE GOLDEN HARP

JEREMIAH STROUT AND THE CURSE OF THE GOLDEN HARP by Karen T. Harter... Jeremiah and his mother move to a new town to start over after his parents divorce. While going through the basement of the house they will be living in, he finds a Golden Harp and each time the strings are plucked something crazy and magical happens! Not always for the better! Thus begins the story of new friendship and adventure.

Endearing and delightful, Jeremiah Strout and the Curse of the Golden Harp has everything going for it. Family, friendships and adventure. A story children will remember and cherish.

If you are looking for a new adventure story for your children, grades 4 to 8, Karen T. Harter's book is one I recommend. Recently, it has received a 5 Star Review from READERS FAVORITE! Please look for it on Amazon.

My 5 STAR review of WHO DO VOODOO by Elaine Donadio

Here is my 5 STAR review for children's book WHO DO VOODOO? by Elaine Donadio. It can be found on Amazon, Goodreads and Barnes & Noble.
WHO DO VOODOO is about 2 preteen boys from NYC visiting one of the boys family in New Orleans. Upon arrival, they feel something is wrong and they are instantly thrown into a captivating mystery that they are determined to solve on their own. Other than the books mystery, the author easily introduces and teaches important topics such as environmental and wildlife safety as well as the rich history of Louisiana. WHO DO VOODOO? is an excellent adventure/mystery for children ages 8-13. As a preteen, I would’ve been drawn in by the cover (and still am) and the story, so I highly recommend it!
The author, Elaine Donadio is a Reading Specialist of NYC schools and has written several children's books for ages approximately 8 - 12.

Long Absence

Sorry for the long absence. I've been busy, and not, at the same time but I've decided to come back and talk about the year.
I showed at BookCon and BookExpo May/June of 2017. It was huge. My third book ALL ROADS SHATTERED came out about a month earlier so luckily I was able to showcase all three of my books while there. It really was an experience that I didn't think I'd survive. Four days running in and out of NYC dragging my various assistants on various days. I will say it was one of the stand out moments in my short life as an indie author.
I adopted/rescued a kitten. The little love of my life is named Chloe. My sons girlfriend rescued Chloe who had gotten herself wedged inside a car engine trying to get warm on a cold, cold December night. I fell in love with that little feral kitten at first sight and shes been taming me for the last year and a half. She has a hashtag #mychloecat. I post my gorgeous tabby on my Instagram and Facebook pages.
I also have read and reviewed a few books which I'll post on Blah Blah Blog. I also received an Official Selection in Poetry from New Apple Literary for my second book ALL ROADS DESTINED. There's more but I'll post as I go along. The cat hates when I'm on the laptop.
Happy Mother's Day!

Guilty pleasure... BLOOD DRIVE

Talk about guilty pleasures? I have found mine and it's SYFY'S Blood Drive on Wednesday nights. I don't know what anyone was thinking when making this show but it's got the perfect amount of everything if you like weird and goofy. Grindhouse productions has won me over, not an easily accomplished feat, as I am not much of a TV viewer.  I'll be tuning in every week to watch Arthur and Grace get into as much gruesome trouble as they try to win the Blood Drive!

May 2017

So it's May 2017 and the highlight of the month has been exhibiting at the Port Jefferson Local Author Fair. I got to meet a few new authors and spent some time with Debbie De Louise, cozy mystery author who also attended. I'd like to thank friends Katie and Raz for dropping by and showing their support! The rain was horrendous that day (May 13th) on Long Island otherwise I think it would've had a better turnout, although it really wasn't bad. I had a lot of fun! Anyone interested in pics they can scan through my Media on Twitter (@LisaDMeyer) , Instagram or my FB pages.
With the exception of the New Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix, I am underwhelmed at anything I've seen off of television. I feel gypped by the shows I do watch  BUT Game of Thrones is coming back soon!
Next up... I'll be writing about Book Expo and Book Con June 1 - 4 as I will be exhibiting there. Free books as long as supplies last over at my booth!

New News All Roads Collection

I have some news on the book front. My third book, All Roads Shattered has been published and is available on Amazon and Outskirtspress.com and more. I hope everyone who reads it, enjoys it and gives it reviews on Amazon, Outskirts or Goodreads, etc.
While that's going on my second book, All Roads Destined has been nominated for a CIPA EVVY award, so if you're feeling all read-ery buy and read that one, too. Of course, there's always  All Roads Home. It holds a special place in my heart, it being my first "child".
Next on the list, I am thrilled to be a featured author at the 3rd Annual Friends of the Port Jefferson Free Library Local Author Fair. I'll be selling all three books there, signed, so if you happen to be a local Long Islander come and meet me and 30 other LI writers!
Lastly, I will also be showing at BEA (Book Expo America) and Book Con 2017 this June 1- 4 at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC, Booth 1761 in The Blend Section.
Thank you and I'll certainly let you all know how they go!

Between A Rock And A Hard Place by Debbie Delouise

I gave this book 5 stars as it's the perfect example of a cozy mystery. Just enough romance, just enough suspense which increases as it goes, and enough suspects and motives to play with as you read. If you've read the first book in the series, you are already acquainted with John and Alicia and many of the Cobble Cove characters, so you feel right at home.
